Pillar 1: DPO Capacity Building
The DPO Capacity Building programme (Pillar 1) is the foundational element of the European DPO professional development framework. This intensive, structured programme equips Data Protection Officers with comprehensive knowledge and practical competencies across all critical dimensions of the role.
This is Pillar 1 of the EPD (European DPO Professional Development) framework. Successful completion provides the foundation for advanced specialisation through Pillar 2 (Advanced Specialisation) and Pillar 3 (Executive Leadership).

Assessment & Completion
Participants complete module assessments, a final capstone project, and a comprehensive written examination. Upon successful completion, you receive an EPD Capacity Building certificate recognising completion of Pillar 1.
Pathway to Advanced Certification
Completion of Capacity Building qualifies you for Pillar 2 (Advanced Specialisation) and international certification programmes (CIPP/E, CIPM, CDPO).
